Zello urges customers with accounts created before November 2 to reset passwords following a potential security breach.

Zello is warning customers who have an account created before November 2 to reset their passwords, a circumstance that suggests that the incident took place on November 2.

Zello is a tech software company in Austin, Texas, U.S., known for the Zello app, which emulates push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkies over cell phone networks.

The popular push-to-talk mobile service has reached over 150 million users globally, its user base spans more than 200 countries.

Recently, multiple users received a security notice from the company urging them to to reset their password.

“As a precaution, we are asking that you reset your Zello app password for any account created before November 2nd, 2024. We also recommend that you change passwords for any other online services where you may have used the same password.” reads the security notice.

In August 2020, the company disclosed a data breach, user information exposed in the incident included email addresses and hashed passwords.
