A group of Turkish hackers shut down the official website of the Vatican City to protest against Pope Francesco’ statements on the Armenian Genocide.
Turkish hackers have taken down the Vatican City official website for revenge against the recent statements by Pope Francesco on the Armenian genocide. The hacking group named Herakles (@THTHerakles) announced that he will continue the offensive against the Vatican City website until the Pope will not apologize officially for statements.
“We want Pope to apologize for his words or we will make sure the website remains off-line” said one of the hacker at Hackread.
The Pope’s statements on the Armenian genocide have aroused the indignation of the Turkish Government, the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu defined “unacceptable” the attitude of the head of the Christian Church, confirming that his declaration are “out of touch with both historical facts and legal basis.”are “out of touch with both historical facts and legal basis.”
The Pope’s statement, which is out of touch with both historical facts and legal basis, is simply unacceptable. +++

The site is actually online, but according to hacker the main server targeted by his group is still down.
