Hacker claims to have breached the Aptoide app store users early this month and now leaked 20 million records out of 39 million Aptoide user records.

A hacker has leaked this week details of 20 million users of the Aptoide app store, the claims to have breached the store early this months and to be in possession of 39 million Aptoids user records.

The news was reported by ZDNet, the stolen data were published on a well-known hacking forum.

Aptoide is a software “marketplace” application for installing mobile applications that runs on Android. It, unlike the Google Play Store, doesn’t have a unique and centralized store, instead, each user manages their own store. According to the official store website, the alternative app store has more than 150 million users worldwide.

“The leaked information, which ZDNet obtained a copy with the help of data breach monitoring service Under the Breach, contains information on users who registered or used the Aptoide app store app between July 21, 2016, and January 28, 2018.” reported ZDNet.

Leaked data includes personal details such as the email address, hashed password, real name, sign-up date, sign-up IP address, device details, and date of birth.

The dump, a PostgreSQL export file, also contains technical information, including account status, sign-up tokens, developer tokens, and referral origin.

ZDNet reported the data leak to Aptoide, but it has yet to receive a reply.
